Dr. Brian Cook is a Senior Researcher at the University of Oxford. He leads the Health Behaviours work package of the Livestock, Environment and People (LEAP) project that tests a variety of food environment interventions to reduce demand for animal-sourced foods. His career has focussed on urban food system research in a public health context, leading multi-disciplinary projects to improve access to healthy and affordable food.

    In this session a panel of experts will investigate why unsustainable animal source foods are currently perceived as desirable, affordable and accessible in Europe. Following the panel we will break out into groups to explore: What are the root causes we need to address in Europe to make a transformation of animal source food consumption and production desirable, affordable and accessible?
